I'm not sure what BSL level I would need to apply for?
You can arrange to attend a free interview where your skills will be assessed through a number of tasks. A decision will then be made on which of our courses best suits your needs and level. The only selection process you pay for is the NVQ in Interpreting (BSL/English) which is 2 days of intensive pre assessment tasks.

What time do the courses run?
Generally from 10am-4pm, with the exception of interpreting programmes, which run 9.30am to 4.30pm. We run Level 1 & 2 courses in the evening.

I'm not sure that I can afford the fees at the moment, what can you suggest?
There are Professional and Career Development Loans available for the assessment component (Part 2) of our NVQ courses. Unfortunately we now only arrange payment by instalments in cases of hardship, which are considered on an individual basis.

Are all the trainers qualified?
Yes, all our primary trainers have a nationally recognised teaching qualification. The Interpreting Trainers are experienced MRSLIs and ASLI trained mentors as well as all being full and active members of ASLI. All Assessors and Internal Verifiers hold appropriate qualifications i.e. A1 and V1.

What happens if I can't make a session on the programme?
It is your responsibility to let us know in advance and catch up with any course work. Eighty per cent attendance is compulsory together with all homework assignments submitted to be eligible for an attendance certificate.

I don't know London, is Signamic easy to get to?
We have really good transport links that make Signamic easily accessible no matter where you are coming from. Canada Water Underground Station, on the Jubilee Line, is only an 8 minute walk, and Rotherhithe Overground Station is a 5 minute walk. There are plenty of bus routes into central London, and to main line stations like Waterloo, London Bridge and Liverpool Street. We are even quite close to London City Airport! Also you can download a map and travel directions from our Contact Us page here.

Do you have parking?
There is limited parking on site and so we recommend that you email enquiries@signamic.co.uk in advance of your visit for availability and options for alternative parking. If you are unsure of where to park, come and find one of us to check on the day!
